In this decade, advanced mobile Technologies will be integrated to vehicles and V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) communication will be in increasing trend resulting in safety applications in the first wave.
In both US and EU, research on V2V and mobility is motivated and still carries on with many projects. Today, demand for mobile navigation applications and in-vehicle navigation and smart multimedia systems is increasing while the demand for external devices are decreasing. One step beyond of the in-vehicle navigation and positioning is the V2V enabled vehicles aware of the nearby events and process it. New generation vehicles can inform the following vehicles upon harsh brake and let them brake appropriately. Re-routing according to local incidents and advanced location-based services are important features of this decade’s advanced navigation platforms.
In near future, advanced navigation systems with those above-mentioned technologies will be on the market. We foresee that these devices will server community benefits including regulations and safety.
